Camryn - 18 months!

Wow! It's amazing to me how much Camryn has changed each month since she was born...and in a blink she's a year and a half! Here's what we're enjoying so much now that she's 18 months:
  • She has curls in the back of her hair. She hasn't had a haircut yet, which daddy's itching to do, but I'm totally holding off - I can finally put her hair in pigtails. She looks so adorable when her curly pigtails bounce up and down when she runs.
  • Camryn loves baby dolls and carries one around the house and out and about wherever she can. She changes, feeds, cuddles and puts her baby to bed. Just this week she started singing to the baby too. Oh, melt my heart!
  • She talks (babbles) a lot, and usually repeats one word out of a sentence when we talk. I will say "Cami, do you want to sit on the couch" and she'll say "Ouch" (couch) confirming the question. Or "let's go eat" and she'll say "eat". I think she actually talks quite well for her age.
  • She says "Ay" for "yes"...it's hilarious to hear my child talk like a pirate.
  • I'm putting money down that she'll be a breeze to potty train. Right now, every time she goes #1 or #2 she announces "poopy" and points to her diaper. Sometimes she'll even bring the diaper pad out of her room, along with her diaper, spread it out on the floor and lay herself down on the pad. I may be a little bias, but I think that's pretty darn amazing!
  • Camryn has always been a good sleeper and especially good at going to bed. Our nighttime routine consists of picking up toys and then we tell her it's time for ni-night. She walks into her room, helps me turn off the lights, turn on her CD, we say bedtime prayers and she goes right to sleep.
  • She has twelve teeth. 4 on top, 4 on bottom and 4 molors.

I could go on and on. Each day is so amazing. Her personality lights up the room when she's in a good mood or a bad one. Along with all the joys she brings, she's showing us her temper lately too. She's starting to throw some good fits and is starting to test our parenting abilities. Lord, help us with this persistent child! But the fits usually only last a little bit and she's back to her joyful self. She's a social butterfly like her mommy and daddy and definitely makes herself known wherever she is. When we go to the mall, she stops and says "Hell-oo" to everyone she sees. She says hello just like that Seinfeld episode...those of you who know what I'm talking about are chuckling right now. The best for us is when we come into a room and she says "mommy" or "daddy" and happily runs toward our arms. Words can't describe the way that tickles my heart.

Love you Cami! Happy year and a half!

Weekend Favorites

Some of my favorite photos of Cami from the weekend....

Sturgis Volleyball Tourney

Go Rachel and Lady Trojans! Sturgis Varsity Volleyball took 5th place in the tournament last weekend in Battle Creek. Here are a few of the MANY highlights of Rachel in the tourney:

Rachel, we're so proud of you and had a great time watching you kick some tail! Good luck in Districts!

Camryn gave all the girls on the team 'knuckles' between games. She thought she was big stuff with all the high school girls!

We were at the tournament all afternoon and Cami had a great time watching all the action, especially from the upper level. She especially enjoyed watching the game with Grandpa and walking around the track with Grandma.

On our way there and back Cami had to have both of her dolls with her. She's totally into her babies lately - it's so cute watching her take care of her dolls with so much affection.

Happy Halloween!

Camryn was a Strawberry for Halloween this year. She loved wearing the headband to her costume, in fact, she wore it almost every day the week before Halloween. We were so excited to have such great weather for her first trick-or-treating excursion!

Daddy and Camryn getting ready to go!

Our neighbor across the street was the first house she went to. She didn't quite know what to make of the situation at first, but by the second house she was going for double-dips in the neighbor's candy bowl.

Daddy and Camryn went to all (eight) of the houses up the block. It took them a good hour and Camryn walked the whole way carrying her pumpkin bowl. She had so much fun collecting candy. Here's Daddy and Cami checking out the loot.

The candy of choice was the sucker!

Mommy and Me!

Camryn and I have limited pics together since I'm usually the one taking photos. This is me and my girl on one of the last hot days this year. I took advantage of the nice weather and played in a golf tournament that day. I won ladies longest drive - woohoo - and Camryn met me afterward to celebrate!

Fun outside! 16 month photos

Our little sunshine is 16 months old already!

Trip to John Ball Zoo

What childhood memory would be complete without a trip to the zoo? The pics below are some of Camryn's favorites. She almost jumped off Andy's shoulder's into the penguin pen.
She learned how to say GOAT and loved petting the babies.
We saw the flamingos and ducks when we first walked into the zoo. That's a bear behind the fence...she was curious, but wanted daddy to hold her. Funny how kids can sense things.
Still keeping a close eye on the bear...no smiles.
There's a smile! The petting Zoo was her favorite. She was not afraid of the animals at all. In fact, she ran right towards this huge cow meandering around in the pen.

In this petting area, you could touch the sting rays and sharks swimming in the pen. For any of you who know my husband, you guessed right. Andy and Camryn kept their distance from the sharks!
